Strawberry Flats Radio was my original show concept for the internet station Asheville Free Media. Every Friday I showcased a hearty mix of vintage hippie country, psychedelic folk, earthy cool and modern experimental roots music. Strawberry Flats ran from September of 2009 to early January, 2010. In that all too short run I produced some fun shows, plus I got to interview a handful of killer musicians and fellow writers. But ultimately, I found the aesthetic concentration too restrictive. I’ve since started producing a new show, Kill the Head, which is all about classic free-form radio programming, with an emphasis on the outer limits of sound: minimal techno, extreme metal, noise-rock, drone, etc. Please check out that show as well. However, I must warn you: it’s a radically different beast.
